Resume Review
My name is Akshat Chopra and I am a senior at Virginia Tech. After completing internships with KPMG, Fidelity, Function1, and the Hokie Club, I know how important it is to craft the perfect resume.
I have been working on my resume diligently since freshman year and I have helped my friends with their resumes informally as well. I want to give back and help others display their accomplishments as proudly as possible. I believe all this resume knowledge I have should be used for good.

Resume Tips
Make sure the important information is easy for a recruiter to find: your job role, the company you worked at, the duration of your job, etc.Don't go over one page; remember, resumes should be short and concise!Keep everything consistent! If you are ending each statement with a period, do it throughout your resume. If you are using past tense for your verbs in the job description, follow that throughout.Don't forget to include your job title, not just the company you worked at!Organize your experiences in reverse chronological order. Your current positions should be at the top of your resume! When writing bullet points for your work experiences, try to describe what YOU did for that company and how it impacts the company in the long run.Start each bullet point with a verb.Put whichever GPA is higher - your in-major GPA or your overall GPA - but make sure to include your GPA. If your GPA isn't listed on your resume, recruiters may assume your GPA is worse than it is.Assume recruiters won't know what some acronyms mean - write your acronyms out!A common tip to keep in mind is that recruiters will only look at your resume for 6 seconds, and they will look most heavily at the beginning and the end of your resume.Quantify your accomplishments wherever you can! Numbers stick out and catch recruiters' eyes.
